Hey, friends, long time no blog! A lot has been going on in the last few years since I drifted away from blogging. Hopefully I will talk about it soon, but that’s not what this post is about.

As I type this, the wheels of the Internet are turning (yes, the Internet has wheels), moving Occasional Hero to a new server. Switching hosting actually ends up being cheaper for me as well, as I can host it together with some other things I’m working on. What does that mean for you? Well, not a lot, except that the blog will be getting a fresh coat of paint, and there will now be no ads! There might be a hiccup or two in the next couple of weeks when the move actually takes place, but, let’s be honest, nobody is regularly checking my dormant blog anyway. If you’re subscribed via email, you might have to resubscribe, because I don’t think those come over. RSS feeds should stay in place, I think? Someone let me know if they break for you. And of course, you can follow me on Twitter and Bluesky. I’m not on Twitter very often anymore, because it has gotten steadily more toxic (and that’s saying something, because, let’s be honest, it was always pretty toxic) and I just got tired of it, but I still plan to crosspost my blog posts at least. After a little social media break, I gave Bluesky a try and it seems a little better, or at least has better filtering tools.

I’ve actually been doing a good bit of writing lately, and it has really made me miss my blogging roots. I’m hoping to get back to it soon!
